On Tuesday evening at Commodore Ballroom, the NACE Foundation recognized its 2016 scholarship recipients at the Scholarship Awards Ceremony, sponsored by BP. Out of the 317 applications received by the NACE Foundation, 35 outstanding students were awarded 50 scholarships. Recipients were chosen by selection committees based on their academic excellence, work experience, professional activities, and commitment to the corrosion industry.
The NACE Foundation also distributed travel assistance totaling $34,000 to 128 students attending CORROSION 2016. The NACE Foundation, now in its twelfth year of awarding scholarships, is able to recognize these deserving students each year thanks to individual and corporate charitable donations, as well as the generous financial support of NACE sections and areas.
